Project Overview
The Ministry of Education Solar Mini-Grid Electrification Project involved the installation and distribution of solar-powered mini-grid systems across four selected schools in Zambia. The project was implemented to improve access to reliable and sustainable electricity for learning, administration, staff accommodation, and essential school facilities in off-grid and underserved areas.
The works included the installation of four solar mini-grid systems and the construction of overhead pole distribution lines extending from each mini-grid to teacher houses and school blocks. The distribution works included pole erection, line installation, electrical connections, and the integration of the connected facilities into the mini-grid supply network.

The completed installations provide schools and surrounding staff facilities with dependable renewable energy, supporting improved educational environments, enhanced staff accommodation, and more reliable operation of essential school services.
